Is the GEAR free?
Admission price includes a gun and some paintballs. If you don’t SPRAY & PRAY you can stretch the initial pack of paintballs for quite a while. And you can always purchase more or upgrade your gun if you want something a little cooler.
Does it hurt, getting hit by a paintball?
Yes, it can sting. BUT you will likely be playing on the REC BALL fields where you will likely be shot from far away and that doesn’t really hurt. The SPEEDBALL fields is where players get shot up close more often. We have lots of new players and they haven’t seemed to mind getting hit. It’s common to NOT realize you were hit from distance.
Tell me about the fields!
REC BALL field 2 is currently under construction, we have something AWESOME coming (nearly done! Galaxy Wars!!!). REC BALL field 1 is as busy as ever and the best place to learn to play paintball. You will always get to play in the very next REC BALL game.
SPEEDBALL fields 1 & 2 are both up and running, although occasionally one of the fields is being used by one of our PRO TEAMS. You will sometimes have to wait 1 or 2 games for the Speedball fields, although usually they are also available in the next game like the REC BALL fields.
Do I need to know how to play?
No. It’s a super simple game… try to shoot all the players on the other team before they shoot everyone on your team. NEVER take your mask/goggles off on the field. Always have a barrel sleeve over the end of your gun barrel when off the field (we will show you when you get here). We will tell you EVERYTHING you need to know and we will remind you often of the goggles and barrel sleeve rules.
What if I love it?
First, you will most certainly love it, that’s not a question. But if you love it AND want to keep playing you’ll probably want a group or clan to hang with. WE CAN HELP!
We have MENTORS and we have our newest program TRAINING PLATOONS! You’ll join a group of players that already play here at AZBattleZone that can guide you through the learning process.
